The mission of the CTE Committee is to inspire the next generation of skilled workers and inform young people, parents, educators and influencers about opportunities in the skilled trades.
Over the last 29 years HBAWS has partnered with Habitat for Humanity, Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools and Forsyth Technical Community College, to raise funds for students to enroll in construction programs at FTCC, to participate in SkillsUSA and to build homes for Habitat for Humanity Forsyth County.
This partnership provides students with on-the-job training and real life experience preparing for careers in the building industry. There is a growing need for hardworking, motivated individuals in a wide variety of skilled trades positions as many professionals are reaching retirement age. Home Builders Association of W-S is committed to investing in students who are interested in construction trades education.
