Get Involved at Habitat Forsyth!

BuildinIMG_0764g Hope by Building Homes– Steadfastly adhering to a philosophy of a “hand-up, not a hand-out,” Habitat is a powerful engine of collaboration and reciprocity whereby those who qualify- by having a history of steady income, verifiable need and a willingness to work hard- soon become involved in giving help to others.  Interest-free mortgage payments go back to Habitat to help future homeowners.  Through this proven and integrity-based strategy of making home ownership a reality, Habitat Forsyth has fundamentally changed lives for more than 350 Partner Families right here in our community.

Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County has an open-door policy: All who believe that everyone needs a safe, decent and affordable place to live are welcome to help with the work, regardless of race, religion, age, gender, political views or any of the other distinctions that too often divide people.  In short, Habitat Forsyth welcomes volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds and also serves people in need of decent housing regardless of race or religion.

Youth United

Youth United empowers local youth to raise funds, educate and advocate on behalf of Habitat for Humanity. Established in 2003, Youth United is a Habitat for Humanity p
rogram that provides youth ages 5-25 an opportunity to help reduce substandard housing in our community. The youth are the leaders, planners, fundraisers, volunteers, and if old enough, builders. Under the leadership of a Steering Committee, comprised of local high school and middle school students,Youth United raises money each year to fund and build a Habitat home with a local partner family in need of affordable housing.  We are in the process sponsoring and building our 11th house!
